Lewis Hamilton

After joining Mercedes AMG Petronas in 2013, Lewis has enjoyed winning success gaining four world championship titles, runner-up in 2016 and helped secure Driver Constructors Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

In his first season with Mercedes Lewis finished fourth claiming only one Grand Prix win in Hungary. However, this followed a very successful 2014 season that saw Lewis win 11 Grand Prix’s with 16 podium finishes. He finished the season with 384 points, 67 points clear of second place. Lewis also claimed 2014s Sports Personality of the Year Award for his achievements in Formula 1.

In 2015, Lewis continued his success of 2014. Again, he won the F1 World Championship this time winning the championship with three races to spare. Lewis finished with 10 Grand Prix victories, 17 podium finishes out of 19 races and finishing the season with 381 points.

2016 saw Lewis finish second the F1 World Championship losing out to teammate Nico Rosberg. This season saw the continuation of the teammate rivalry between the pair with Lewis losing out this year by 5 points. Even with a matched 2015 record securing 10 Grand Prix wins and 17 podium finishes.

Lewis was back in top form in 2017 winning back the F1 World Championship, claiming his fourth world title making him the most successful British F1 driver overtaking Jackie Stewart. He won nine Grand Prix’s with 13 podium finishes totalling 363 points for the season.

2018 was a record-breaking season for Lewis as he again claimed the F1 World Championship winning 11 Grand Prix with 16 podium finishes. He recorded a record number of points in a single season finishing with 408 points and became the first driver to surpass 3000 career points. Lewis was also runner up in 2018 Sports Personality of the Year awards.
