Martina joined Stevenage and North Herts Athletic Club in 2009 and competed as a T20 athlete at her first National Event in Gateshead in 2010, recording 4m in the long jump. By 2012 Martina was competing internationally. In March she contested the Pentathlon at the INAS World Championships at Sport City coming first and in June Martina was in action at the INAS European Championships winning the heptathlon in Sweden. She won the INAS World heptathlon in Prague in 2013 and the INAS European heptathlon in 2014 in the Netherlands.
During 2015 Martina decided to concentrate on long jump with the aim of gaining selection for World and European Para Athletics Championships. 2016 saw Martina jump over 5m for the first time and in 2017 she was selected to represent Great Britain at the World Para Championships at the Olympic Park in a London. Earlier that year she competed in Dubai at the 9th Fazaa Para Championships where she was second in the long jump (5m10) and won the 400m (62.22). A personal best of 5m17 saw her finish in fourth place in London. At the end of 2017 Martina was placed on UKA Podium Potential Funding which allowed her to become a full-time athlete. A new personal best of 5m31 saw her finish in fourth at the European Para Championships in Berlin in August 2018.
2019 saw Martina improve her personal best to 5m32 at the MENCAP Championships at Watford and it has just been announced that she has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Para Championships in Doha in October 2020.
